Les grandes actions de Dieu

Nous ne les cacherons pas à leurs enfants, en racontant à la génération future les louanges de l'Éternel, sa puissance et les merveilles qu'il a faites. -Psaume 78:4

L'Ancien Testament nous exhorte fréquemment à raconter à nos enfants la fidélité de Dieu et ses œuvres puissantes. L'Éternel a ordonné à Moïse de "raconter à ton fils et au fils de ton fils les choses puissantes que j'ai faites en Égypte" (Exode 10:2). Moïse a dit aux enfants d'Israël d'enseigner "les choses que tes yeux ont vues ... à tes enfants et à tes petits-enfants" (Deutéronome 4:9). Nos enfants ont besoin d'entendre ces choses pour "mettre leur espérance en Dieu, et ne pas oublier les œuvres de Dieu, mais garder ses commandements" (Psaumes 78:7).  

Dieu continue à faire des choses merveilleuses, et nous devons les partager avec nos enfants. En répétant à nos enfants la puissance de Dieu qui nous a sauvés, guéris, fournis et protégés, nous et nos familles, ils placeront eux aussi leur espoir en Dieu. Leur foi sera renforcée, et ils resteront fermes dans le Seigneur, car ils savent qu'il leur répondra aussi quand ils en auront besoin. 

We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. -Psalm 78:4

The Old Testament frequently exhorts us to recount to our children God’s faithfulness and mighty works. The Lord instructed Moses to “tell in the hearing of your son and your son’s son the mighty things I have done in Egypt” (Exodus 10:2). Moses told the children of Israel to teach “the things your eyes have seen … to your children and your grandchildren” (Deuteronomy 4:9). Our children need to hear these things so “that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments” (Psalms 78:7).  

God continues to do wondrous things, and we must share them with our children. As we rehearse to our children the power of God that saved, healed, provided and protected us and our families, they will set their hope in God, too. Their faith will be strengthened, and they will stand firm in the Lord, because they know He will answer them when they have need, as well.
