Entendre et obéir

 ...et dit : "Si tu écoutes attentivement la voix de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et si tu fais ce qui est droit à ses yeux, si tu prêtes l'oreille à ses commandements et si tu observes toutes ses lois, je ne te frapperai d'aucune des maladies que j'ai fait venir sur les Égyptiens. Car je suis l'Éternel qui vous guérit." -Exode 15:26

Dieu nous demande de l'écouter. Nous devons avoir une oreille attentive pour pouvoir L'entendre. Dieu a toujours parlé à son peuple, et il vous parlera aujourd'hui, mais vous devez cultiver l'habitude d'écouter sa voix. Il parle de plusieurs façons, par Sa Parole, par Ses serviteurs oints, et par la révélation directe du Saint-Esprit (Ephésiens 1:17, 18). Il cherche un peuple qui écoutera sa voix et n'essaiera pas de fuir et de se cacher de lui (voir Genèse 3:8). 

Dieu nous demande également de "faire ce qui est juste à ses yeux". Il cherche aussi des personnes qui non seulement entendront Ses paroles, mais les prendront à cœur et les mettront en pratique. Il nous appelle à être des personnes qui obéiront à Sa parole et ne seront pas seulement des auditeurs (Jacques 1:22-25). 

Lorsque nous lui obéissons, sa bonté est abondamment promise. Elle attend ceux qui "sèment à l'Esprit" (Galates 6:7-9), qui entendent la voix du Seigneur et qui font ce qu'il leur dit de faire. 

 ...and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.” -Exodus 15:26

God asks us to heed Him. We are to have a hearing ear so we will hear Him. God has always spoken to His people, and He will speak to you today, but you must cultivate a habit of listening for His voice. He speaks in many ways, through His Word, through His anointed servants, and through direct revelation from the Holy Spirit (Ephesians1:17, 18). He is seeking a people who will listen for His voice and not try to run and hide from Him (see Genesis 3:8). 

God also asks us to “do what is right in His sight.” He is also seeking people who will not only hear His words, but will take them to heart and act on them. He calls us to be people who will obey His word and not be hearers only (James 1:22–25). 

As we obey Him, His goodness is abundantly promised. It awaits those who “(sow) to the Spirit” (Gal. 6:7–9), hear the voice of the Lord, and do what He tells them to do.
