La foi vient donc de l'écoute, et l'écoute de la parole de Dieu. -Romains 10:17
La relation entre l'apport de la Parole et la croissance de notre foi est frappante. Ce texte va jusqu'à suggérer qu'elles sont indissociables ! Cela nous rend très responsables, non seulement dans le domaine de notre propre étude biblique, mais aussi dans la façon dont nous parlons de la Parole à ceux qui nous entourent.
2 Samuel 23:2 dit : "L'Esprit de l'Éternel a parlé par moi, et sa parole a été sur ma langue. Et 1 Pierre 3:15 nous exhorte à "être toujours prêts à donner une défense à quiconque vous demande une raison pour l'espérance qui est en vous". Nous devons être prêts à tout moment à prononcer une parole de vie en toute circonstance et à donner une explication de notre foi à quiconque le demande.
Nous ne sommes pas toujours en mesure de prévoir ces occasions. Nous laissons donc notre temps dans la Parole construire notre foi afin de pouvoir vraiment "être prêts en temps et en heure" (2 Timothée 4:2) à exhorter et à enseigner.
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. -Romans 10:17
The relationship between the input of the Word and the growth of our faith is striking. This text goes so far as to suggest that they cannot be separated! That places us under great accountability, not only in the area of our own Bible study, but in how we speak the Word to those around us.
2 Samuel 23:2 says, “The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue.” And 1 Peter 3:15 exhorts us to “always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you.” We are to be ready at all times to speak a word of life into any circumstance and to give an explanation of our faith to anyone who asks.
We are not always able to plan ahead for those occasions. So we let our times in the Word build our faith that we may truly “be ready in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2) to exhort and teach.
